- Lead the preparation and serving of balanced, nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with menus, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements.
- Oversee CACFP compliance, including accurate documentation for program reimbursements.
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and storage standards are consistently met and enforced.
- Create or adapt menus to meet dietary restrictions, allergies, and nutritional needs of children.
- Monitor, manage, and order food inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels and stay within budget.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.
- Supervise Assistant Cook(s) and support their training and development.
- Deliver meals to additional campuses as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Model and promote a kind, respectful, and child-friendly atmosphere in alignment with Montessori principles.
- Prior experience as a Head Cook, Lead Cook, or Kitchen Manager (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to adapt recipes and menus for allergies and dietary needs.
- Excellent culinary, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Leadership ability and strong communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods.
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
